10 Randomnesses

1) I always thought I'd have boys.

2) My most favorite sound in the world is Gracie's laugh. It's utterly delightful. Tickle her pit and you'll see for yourself.

3) Each one of my kids is my favorite. Truly. Favorite. By pure definition, there can be only one... yet I have three. How does that work?

4) I was on my way to law school when Justin came along and said something along the lines of "I think we'd, uh, be good together." Which totally derailed me. And for that, I thank and resent him. Mostly thank.

5) I have moved many, many times. Which is the main contributor to the fact that I want/need/desire stability. I don't want my kids to be "new" or to have to feel alone at lunchtime and recess. I want them, thirty years from now, to have friends they've known since childhood.

6) I'm overly sensitive to the misspelling of my commonly and understandably misspelled name. (see #5?)

7) I love TV. I do. I feel a little guilty about that, as though I should commonly choose books, meditation, yoga or nature hikes over TV. I love to read too, especially John Grisham type stuff, with an occasional love story thrown in. I also love prison movies. Go figure.

8) I have an ugly, thick nail on my pinky toe and so does my Littlest. In that vein, nothing makes her giggle like "This little (ugly, thick) piggy went wee weee weeeee all the way home!"

9) I feel terribly humbled by the fact that God tolerates and even loves me... after all the frustration I must put Him through. I really don't think I got it until I had my own children; now I have a clue how much He loves me... in spite of myself. And still have a hard time absorbing that. Wow.

10) I CANNOT STAND the misuse of: your, you're, there, they're, their, to, two, too and the like. HOW HARD IS IT?! Argh!!! In case you, ahem, may know anybody that struggles with these, here's a little lesson.... 'your' is possessive (ie: That is your cheeseburger.); 'you're' means you are (ie: You're going to buy a cheeseburger?). 'There' is related to location (ie: I'll meet you there, I am also in need of a cheeseburger); 'they're' means they are (ie: Let's invite Mikele, Katie and those other really cool chicks, I'm sure they're in need of cheeseburgers too); 'their' is possessive (ie: I cannot believe Robyn and Holly won't share their cheeseburgers -- I thought we were friends.) Let's go to Cheeseburger Hut and order two cheeseburgers -- maybe we'll get some fries too!

11) I also like cheeseburgers.

Ok, 11 randomnesses. Next time I may do 12 just for kicks.

Even though sharing a cheeseburger might not happen, I'd love to share my fries... yesterday I ordered cheese fries and a cheeseburger and they asked me what kind of cheese I wanted and duh, it was a mushroom burger, so swiss please. Turns out they meant for my fries. It wasn't that yummy.

The grammar stuff drives me nuts too.

"Their" is tricky for me.

If you're going to treat me like that their will be a price to pay.

Was that right?

Why aren't their any chips left in the bag.

Right?

Kristi and Robyn aren't sharing their chips.

Right?

It can't be they're...Kristi and Robyn aren't sharing they are chips.

Doesn't make sense...so it has to be their.

Am I wrong?
