Heeeellllooooooo (Seinfeldesque). Yes. I still refer to Seinfeld.

Feels like all I ever do on here is throw out the occasional lame and ever so slight update. Will try to improve! Possibly.

Soooo. Let's see.... Baby Dude is no longer perfect in the night sleeping department. He's been up since 3 (after already waking up once at 12ish?) and he's in the other room crying whilst I attempt to ignore him so he goes back to sleep. This was not my initial strategy but, like much of my parenting style, it has morphed due to frustration and/or necessity. I am, however, sending lovey vibes his direction, lest you think me neglectful. The bright side of this is he should take a nap! Have I mentioned the dude doesn't nap? 10 minutes here. 16.78 minutes there... He's sounding more imperfect all the time. Oh, but those cheeks! Both kinds!!

I shall now digress to a small list of mostly uninteresting items:

~I've recently discovered Coco likes mushrooms. A lot. I try not to assume the kids will or won't like whatever, I just remember my palate as a kid had about 4 items on it. So they eat what we eat and their palates are thankfully quite large.

~I'm liking Justin more and more lately. This comes and goes, but I'm happy to report that I much more often see the cute than the you're-driving-me-bonkers-now-please(grrr)-take-out-the-overflowing-trash-un-cute. This feeling is largely aided by the fact that I am not pregnant! How I love to be done being pregnant.

~What's that I hear? NOTHING. Dude is officially passed out in the swing. See? Neglect works wonders.

~On Monday, the kids and I met a new friend for a day of fun along with her friends (who I was meeting for the first time). Only after I got home did I realize how very ridiculous my hasty clothing choice looked. Note to self: look in mirror prior to leaving premises. These are the times when the ability to laugh at oneself comes in very handy. Love me, love my crazy.

~I recently met a woman who (referring to a family with 5 children and assuming I only had the two that were with me) said that smart people don't have large families. She has two and that is the ONLY way to go. One is too few, three or more is just beyond ridiculous. WHY oh WHY would anyone want anything other than two?! RIDICULOUS. As you can tell, she and I are on route to being BFF's.

~Just in the past week or so, Mary has been much less.... THIS. But before I could get too excited, she reeled me in yesterday by screeeaming because I told her she was cute. The ultimate of insults. HEAR YE: MARY IS NOT CUTE. I REPEAT. NOT CUTE.

How dare you call her cute?

And also, ouch on the lady talking about big families. While I think 2 kids may be the best for us, I have nothing but respect and complete admiration for people who want and love having more kids! I stand in awe, honestly.

Guess I'm on the road to completely ridiculous!

Neglect is my favorite parenting strategy. That and earplugs. I LOVE EARPLUGS!

Hee! I've had people assume I only had the kids with me, too. I wish I were just a LITTLE braver and could wait until they were finished and then explain that I have five.

Edwards SCREAMS if we call him cute. We have to say he looks "regular." So now we use that as a code word for cute.

Miles hates to be called "funny" as apparently it's an insult. Weird, because to his mom, it's the best compliment.

I will send Zoey over to have a talk with baby dude...we'll get him back on track!

Mary is not cute....what could you possibly be thinking, how dare you pick on her like that!

I love that you still refer to Seinfield...I still watch Friends reruns.

I'm glad Mikele clarified what kind of "funny" she likes to be referred to as...I was confused ;)

I know, good thing Mikele clarified. Otherwise I'da had to assume she kept calling her kid weird.

I did wait til she was finished and told her I had four - it was such a classic foot in mouth expression, I wish I had a camera.

Leah used to hate (still does!) being called cute. She thought that was such a baby thing. She prefers to be beautiful. I told her she could be both, but she didn't go for it.

Glad to "hear" from you again online, though I get to see you in person too. I guess I can't complain too much.

Oh no, now Leah's reading over my shoulders. Better post this fast before she complains about me talking about her. :) Too late, I just got the evil eyes -- which still need to be perfected, I must say. They were still . . . well, cute!! :)

I, personally, am glad you have 4 children. I'm even more proud I get to call them my kinfolk and spoil them at Christmas!!!

I love big families, but I don't quite have the courage to go ahead and try for a third. If I did, I think I would have loved to have 4 kids
