The days are long but the years are short

Last night I noticed that Mary's run is a little less babyish. It's still an adorable, beeboppin' half hop half run, but there's just a little less hop to it. Probably no one in the world would notice but me, but noticing it stung a little. My kids are getting older. At the speed of sound. Gracie has lost the little to her -- she's officially 'girl' -- not 'little girl.' Coco is learning to write and can properly wipe. Nearly.

I hear moms of older kids saying "when the kids were little..." and I know in the blink of an eye I'll be saying that. In our hall, there are baby pictures of Gracie. She was 7 months old when we moved here, so pictures of her took center stage. I've never moved them. Sometimes I stand there and feel what it was like when it was just me and her little tiny self... sob uncontrollably for awhile, then pick myself up, brush myself off and get back to the laundry. The laundry was much tinier back then.

Sniff.

I remember all of Kate's laundry fitting in one load.

Yeah, that's not the way it is now...

So ture- about the blink of an eye AND the little laundry. Don't even talk to me about laundry now!

I just went to a baby shower last Sunday- for triplets and got my fill of gloriously tiny things. :)
