Where's the one that says "Do Not Attempt To Manipulate Your Mother"?

I'm FINALLY getting the kids' chore charts organized. I originally intended to make them, but, uh, I didn't. Bought these from Target & they have little tiles that say stuff like "clean room" "get dressed" "brush teeth" "share" "say please & thank you" "no whining" -- all very important things to remember on a daily basis. Although I must say I was disappointed to find the distributors neglected to include a "rub Mom's feet" tile.
The kids have been excited to get started -- they each want each spot filled up with a chore because they think it ensures them maximum payout. Please recall I am not above bribery for a peaceful home.
Gracie: Can I please have the "say please and thank you" one? (Slam Dunk)
Me: No, when I get it organized, your spots will all be filled. There's no room for that one and besides, that's to help the kids who need to learn manners. You're already pretty great in the manners department!
Gracie: Awww, I really wanted it!!!

Break. Five minutes later...

Gracie: Mom, TAKE OUT MY PONYTAIL!
Me: (looking disgruntled)
Gracie: I TOLD you I need to learn better manners!

Nice.

Awesome - you're going to have to watch that little one! Sounds like she's learned more than just her manners... But you gotta love it, right? Adorable.

Jen, it was just the shadow. And possibly the fact that it was Day 3 hair. <:}

She's a quick one. I'll call you later in the year when I start Kate's chart and you can give me all your tips.

Maybe you can slip one in there that says, "make MOM's bed," or empty dishwasher!!! : ) That's only a year or so down the road ya know, and ....who's in a hurry anyway! Gotta hold on to these years. They are passing by so fast. Kristi, I think you're doing a great job of enjoying your little ones at their various ages and stages...something I appreciate about you.
